THE SPACE FOR STORIES: FRUIT AND TREE.This body of work is rooted in the idea of space serving as a vessel for allegorical narratives. It emerges from a fascination with the relationship between narrative and space, explored through various artistic mediums including painting, photography, drawing, and film. Through this exploration, I delved into the dynamics of positive and negative space, ultimately finding negative space particularly exciting. This fascination led me to the Japanese concept of MA, which centers around the significance of negative space not only in art but also in music and everyday life. Within the concept of MA, I resonated with ideas such as liminality, pause, transitional stages, and the presence within absence—concepts that deeply influenced this body of work.

Inspired by Charles Gains' statement that artists should separate representation from objects and direct them towards autonomous structures of narrative play, in his essay, "Chanting Bees and Other Translations: The Video Projects of Terry Adkins”. I embraced the use of metaphor in my work. This approach allows my creations to exist autonomously within space, shaping their own narratives and inviting viewers to engage in a personalized exploration. By imbuing my works with this self-driving narrative quality, I aim to activate and harness space.

In essence, each of my creations become individual pathways of experience, while also collectively contributing to a broader narrative exploration. The space they inhabit becomes a dynamic intersection of multiple narratives, each playing with and off the other to create an immersive experience for the viewer.
